Ruta del vino Rias Baixas

Designation of Origin Rias Baixas extends over a vast territory west of Galicia, which is divided into five sub-areas, four in the province of Pontevedra (Valle de O Salnés, Tea County, Soutomaior and O Rosal), and one in the A Coruña (Ribeira do Ulla).

After passing a rigorous audit process, in April 2005 the Wine Route Rias Baixas has been awarded the quality mark Spain Wine Route, which certifies that the participating establishments comply with strict quality control.

All the wineries of the Wine Route Rias Baixas (family, large cooperatives, urban, historical, craft, ...) offer visitors the chance to taste their wine, the skins and enjoy a guided tour its facilities.

The Wine Route Rias Baixas is traditionally associated with albariño wine, as this is the dominant wine variety in the region of Salnés.

There really is not a marked route, in fact it is the visitor who decides which wineries you want to visit marking your route.

Sanxenxo belongs to the subzone Salnés Valley and in the municipality there are plenty of wineries, some of which can be visited by appointment.

The Wine Route Rias Baixas is located in a unique context in which you can enjoy exceptional beaches, parks, marshes, rural landscapes, vast areas of vineyards, and its important and rich cultural and historical heritage, testimony the passage of different cultures in the area. Also you can enjoy a variety of dining renowned as the Albariño Festival holidays, the Seafood Festival, etc.
