On July 17 we honor the San Antonio, patron of the fishermen's association, festival that in a fishing village as Cambados get a huge social relevance.
July 18 is the the day of the Saint Patroness of Cambados, Santa Mariña. The religious celebrations take place throughout the day, ending with a colorful procession in which the Virgin is carried on the shoulders along the main streets of the town, accompanied by bagpipers and marching bands.
Around July 20 takes place in the sailor neighborhood of San Tomé, the feast of St. Margarita, which offered a free tasting of mussels, corn bread, sardines and red wine.
During the first week of August is the largest gastronomy festival in the village of Cambados: the "Albariño Wine Festival", declared of National Tourist Interest.
What began as a meeting of friends in 1953, is today one of the most important events in the celebrations dedicated to the wine industry in Spain.
The festival is organized from A Calzada Path, where dozens of stands hosting the most prominent wineries in the area, offering to the public their Albariño wines at affordable prices for the occasion. In other stands, are served to accompany the wine, pies, mussels, peppers, octopus, etc..
But the party is not based only on the tasting, nor reduced to walk A Calzada. The whole village is steeped in the flavor of the party and everyone participates in a host of activities and events taking place in the days of the celebration.
We highlight the humorous expressions that look the shirts of the different groups of friends to delight the festival and then participate in a contest of slogans.
Gastronomic, concerts of the best Spanish and international groups as well as groups of bagpipers, marching bands and folklore exhibitions, sporting events, festivals fireworks ..
These are just some of the attractions that we can find. In addition, the appointment, each year of the new "Cabaleiros" and "Damas" of Capítulo Serenísimo of Albariño, which filled the streets of the town of personalities from different fields: social, political and cultural as well as a large number of guilds that highlight the wine.
